Business Talent is not a development programme but a programme designed to bring externally existing skills into further education management and develop these within an FE context.

This early introduction of high calibre business skills and commercial awareness will help the FE sector move more quickly towards a position where world-class leadership and management is both achievable and sustainable. The programme will particularly encourage applicants from groups currently under-represented in FE senior management, contributing to a culture shift across the sector.

Between now and March 2010, Business Talent will support the recruitment of successful managers directly to principal/CEO or tier 2/senior director employment and leave the sector with a lasting management recruitment framework.
