The Catalyst programme is creating new opportunities for further education
(FE) providers to shape the workforce of the future. Working with
the Department
for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS), the Catalyst
programme will introduce recruitment schemes for graduates, managers
and vocational and technical experts, and provide new opportunities
for teachers, tutors and trainers to update their vocational skills.
These changes will help create an effective FE workforce with the
power to drive change in every other sector by raising the skills
of all workers, throughout their lives. Managed by Lifelong
Learning UK (LLUK), the Catalyst programme encompasses four
key areas:
 |
Make a Difference
will encourage highly motivated graduate calibre individuals
to pursue a management career in FE. |
 |
Business Talent
will help FE providers attract talented managers from other
sectors. |
 |
Business Interchange
will give FE staff the chance to work more closely with local
businesses and update their vocational skills. |
 |
Pass on Your Skills
will provide opportunities for skilled specialists to move into
teaching roles within FE. |
LLUK is working with employers, learning providers, representative
bodies and other FE system organisations to offer these programmes
in FE, general education and sixth form colleges and work based
learning and community settings. For more information about how
the Catalyst programmes can benefit you, please click the links
