The Make a Difference programme has provided management recruitment and development support to over 200 FE provider organisations.
It's been a success, using a series of national recruitment campaigns highlighting the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of learners, to attract over 1000 managers from other sectors, along with motivated high fliers already working in the sector, 170 of whom have successfully applied directly to vacant management roles.
The programme also provided a bespoke, funded leadership development programme to support new managers who have the potential to progress to senior roles.
Whilst no new registrations are being taken, materials will be available that can give guidance and support if you are looking to recruit and develop a new manager.
Lifelong Learning UK is working with the Learning and Skills Improvement Service to ensure that the leadership development programme will continue to be available as part of the Learning and Skills Improvement Service's portfolio. We will keep all participants, and the wider sector, informed of developments as soon as we have them.
