'Pass on Your Skills' will ensure further education (FE) staff have
the skills and expertise required to meet the needs of the sectors
they serve by creating opportunities for technical and vocational
experts to move into appropriate teaching roles.
The programme will build on the success of a recent pilot, which
recruited and trained construction professionals to teach in the
FE sector, and will also help FE providers fill key vacancies within
the sector.
As part of the programme, LLUK will introduce, manage and evaluate:
- high profile recruitment campaigns targeting professionals in
key sectors, including construction, social care and health and
others to be identified shortly
- guidance and support for employers, helping them to select and
train the best applicants
- an introductory programme for successful applicants leading
to a licence to teach and an award in Preparing to Teach in the
Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).
